Acupuncture and High Cholesterol

Are you frustrated by your cholesterol level?  Have you tried all of the recommended solutions, such as exercise, diet, supplements and even cholesterol-lowering drugs?  Have you checked to see if there are any types of conditions that could be causing your high cholesterol level?  Have you addressed them?

If you’ve answered yes to all of these questions, yet you still have a high cholesterol level, you might want to try a form of alternative medicine known as acupuncture.

Acupuncture, which originated in China, is a procedure in which various points on the body are pressed either with fingers or needles.  It is believed that by pressing on these points, the body is given the necessary ‘energy’ to heal itself of various conditions, one of them being a high cholesterol level. In fact, Dr. Buzz Johnson has created an acupuncture technique specially designed for lowering cholesterol.  It is called Emotional Freedom Techniques, (also known as EFT).  He developed these techniques after learning from his blood test that he had a high cholesterol level.  He conducted an experiment on himself… he would use EFT for a month and see if there was any difference in his cholesterol levels.  Surprisingly, he found that his LDLs and level of triglycerides had lowered, while his HDLs were higher.  As a result he didn’t have to worry about taking cholesterol medication, many of which have harmful side effects. The EFT program comes in a set of five DVDs.  Through these DVDs you learn a form of do-it-yourself acupuncture.  This type of acupuncture does not require needles, as you press your acupuncture points with your fingertips.  Also, you do not need to worry if you have absolutely no knowledge of acupuncture.  The EFT program is designed to teach acupuncture to people with a varying level of acupuncture knowledge.  If you do happen to have acupuncture knowledge, don’t think that the EFT program won’t benefit you.  This is because this program shows acupuncture techniques that are unique and are generally not used even among acupuncture specialists.  Indeed, the EFT program has something to offer for everyone.

If you’re interested in trying out EFT, you can purchase the program from the Emotional Freedom Techniques website found at Emofree.com.  There are even free manuals you can download if you want to see what the information is like before investing any money.  However, keep in mind that you should never do any type of alternative medication without first consulting with a doctor.  Also, don’t expect that it will solve your problems.  While it is totally fine to experiment with it for a short while, if it doesn’t bring about the cholesterol level you need to be healthy, then you will have to consider taking cholesterol-lowering drugs.  If you are trying EFT because the cholesterol-lowering drugs you are using are not working, yet EFT is also not giving you the desired results, talk with your doctor.  They can prescribe different types of cholesterol-lowering medications that hopefully will get your cholesterol at the level that it should be.
